The article is devoted to the representations of Great Patriotic War in Soviet and postSoviet cinematography. study presents comparative analysis heroic narrative dating back wartime propaganda most clearly manifested post-war film epics, as well tragic narrative, which inextricably linked with ‘lieutenant’ prose Thaw-era. changes images cinema Russian war films 2000s are considered. It proved that these changes, found modern series remakes, critically evaluated by both academic circles youth audience. On basis discussions held ten focus groups main critical attitudes analyzed.
